Antalya, located in the Mediterranean region of Turkey, is a city rich in biological diversity. In this region, there are many endemic plant species. Endemic plants are species that naturally grow only in a specific geographical region and are generally found in limited areas.

Some of the endemic plant species under protection in Antalya include:

Antalya Cotton Thistle (Onopordum caricum): A species specific to the Mediterranean region, it typically grows in dry, rocky terrain. It is characterized by its large, thorny leaves and purplish flowers.

Antalya Anemone (Anemone coronaria subsp. cypria): This species, one of Antalya's unique plants, is mostly found in rocky areas and forest clearings. It usually has white, blue, or purple flowers.

Antalya Turkish Pine (Pinus brutia subsp. pityusa): A common pine species in Antalya and its surroundings. Belonging to the red pine family, this species is adapted to the Mediterranean climate and is resistant to drought.

Antalya Lily (Lilium candidum): Known for its large, white flowers, this species is specific to the Mediterranean region. It grows in the mountainous regions of Antalya and is a rare plant species.

These plant species are just a few examples of the endemic species found only in Antalya and its surroundings, considered endemic. Antalya's rich biological diversity and unique ecosystems host many rare plant species. However, these plant species are generally protected and sensitive, so it is important to preserve their natural habitats and manage them consciously.
